WHO Affirms MERS - CoV yet for World Emergency


MERS - CoV virus growth in Saudi Arabia is making nervous. Because the Case Fatality Rate for the disease is quite high at 32 percent .
WHO also an emergency meeting to discuss the issue . Prof. Tjandra Yoga Aditama as one of the participants of the WHO IHR Emergency Committee concerning MERS - CoV in a statement said the meeting conducted by teleconference and lasted for 5 hours .
One of the decisions taken at the meeting is not yet set a WHO MERS case in Saudi Arabia as an emergency troubling world .
" Members Committee concluded that the current has not occurred for MERS CoV Public Health Emergency of International Concern ( PHEIC ) , or has not happened Public Health Emergency Disturbing World ( KKMMD ) , " wrote Prof. Tjandra in a statement on Thursday ( 05/15/2014 ) .
Other results obtained from the meeting is not yet found scientific evidence of sustained human - to- human transmission or direct transmission from human to human .
According to some doctors of the WHO also said some of the recommendations should be carried out by WHO member states. The recommendations include:
- Improve the system of infection prevention and control in health care fassilitas- Initiate and improve critical investigation , including research , case-control , serology , environmental , and    animal studies .- Supports negara2 vulnerable , specifically in sub - Saharan Africa ;- Improve the identification and handling of cases / patients and contacts surrounding- Improve education runs the risk communication to the public actively , health workers , high risk groups          and public policy makers .- Strengthening Intersectoral collaboration and exchange of information between ministries in the country ,        and with international organizations such as WHO , the World Organization for Animal Health ( OIE ) , the    Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations ( FAO ) ;- Create guidelines and suggestions on collecting a lot of mass ( mass gatherings ) to prevent ongoing                transmission of MERS - CoV .
